FAQs

1. What is Full Swing Textiles?
We are a lifestyle company that has its origins in textile design. Concepts that are important to us include "fun," "vintage inspired," and "authentic." For example, our Signature Barkcloth (what we print our many vintage inspired barkcloth patterns on) is considered by many to be the most authentic and highest quaility barkcloth woven in the United States today. We also make bags, home accessories, holiday items, and other fun and interesting things with our fabrics.
2. Where did the name “Full Swing” come from?
Full Swing was named by the founder, Michele Mancini, who believed that you could never keep great design down. If it were great once, it would come back again, thus, a full circle or swing. What's more, she believed the greatness of American heritage design was in its heyday (in full swing) during the 1930's, 40's and 50's, the period from which much of Full Swing's fabric design inspiration comes from. Today, we continue to try to pay tribute to those designers of the past by honoring their tradition of taking the sometimes simple and ubiquitous patterns around us and turning them into the sublime.
3. I saw something in a magazine a few months ago that is not on your website. How can I order it?
There is a chance that the item is no longer available. In addition to our permanent collection of bags and pillows, we also make additional items that we treat as seasonal and do not usually hold stock from past seasons. Some bag styles that we produce also change seasonally but we try to keep our pillow sizes constant and simple. With so much changing, we try to keep our website as the central source for what we’re making and how you can find it. So if the item you desire is still available, you will most likely see it on our website. You can always double check by sending an e-mail to or calling us at 781.934.6781. When doing so, any information about the name of the print or design and style of the bag or pillow will help us track down what you are looking for!
4. How can I buy fabric?
For nearly 20 years, we sold our yardage to the trade only through design showrooms around the country and abroad. We've since moved to a direct sales ecommerce model making all our fabric and accessories available to everyone on this website. Simply click on "fabric" in the left margin to peruse our current collection.
5. What is the best way to care for my Full Swing product?
Most of our fabric is color fast and machine washable owing to the superiority of our printing process. If you love fabrics that get softer with age, you'll love our signature barkcloth that will get even softer than your favorite pair of old jeans. However, if preserving the finish or hand of a fabric is important to you, SCOTCH-GARD™ when new, DRY CLEAN when dirty.
6. How can I get a catalog?
At this time we do not have a retail or mail order catalog. If you want to buy an item, our website is your best option. Within this site, you can order online, or learn how to contact us by email or telephone. We may decide to offer a mail order catalog in the future, but with our rapidly changing product line and the environmental impact of most catalogs (eventually winding up in a landfill); we believe this web site is the most efficient and environmentally friendly way to display our products.
7. Where are your products made?
Creating products using “Quality Craftsmanship" with an "Air of Durability" about them is very important to us! Full Swing's Signature Barkcloth is woven exclusively for us in the United States using a rebuilt loom to replicate the authenticity of the original weave manufactured in the US in the late 1930's, 40's and 50's. Our printed collections comprised of tote bags, pillows, kitchen accessories, and desktop items are made in the United States with pride and careful attention. Our intent is to always stay in the details, working closely with individuals performing the actual construction, and keeping our products in line with the newest and highest quality construction techniques. If you feel there is something we could do differently to improve what we are doing, feel free to let us know via email at or calling us at 781.934.6781.
8. Can pillows be custom made in specific colors or sizes?
We offer a variety of standard pillow shapes and sizes for accent and decoration. We are always reviewing our product line and considering the addition of new items, however, we are not able to construct "1 time" custom made items at this time. If you would like to discuss custom made items in volume, we may be able to accommodate your request depending on our current backlog in manufacturing. Feel free to check by sending us an e-mail at or calling us at 781.934.6781.
